GRACEMERE CATTLE SALE WEDNESDAY 27TH MARCH 2024
Local rain and current market trends seen a reduced yarding at CQLX Gracemere today with a total of 1,683 head yarded this week, The combined agents seen 1,041 Steers, 405 Heifers, 162 Cows, 34 Bulls and 41 Cows and Calves. A strong buyer’s panel seen increased competition across all categories with the average price strengthening by 21 cents. Steers seen the biggest improvement today with a 25 cent jump with light and heavy feeders enjoying the biggest kick of up to 35 cents. In the heifers while the reports may read cheaper in below 200kg cattle however the market was dearer taking into account the quality of cattle presented this week compared to last week and smaller numbers to quote. Feeder heifer 330-400kg were stronger by 13 cents and the cows also seen an increase of 14 cents on average however up to 30 cents better in places.
