GRACEMERE CATTLE SALE WEDNESDAY 1st MAY 2024
The Gracemere Combined Agents saw a slight drop in numbers this week with 2,701 head yarded, consisting of 1,634 Steers, 739 Heifers, 294 Cows, 15 Bulls and 19 Cows and Calves. Average prices across the board fell by 4 to 14 cents this week. Steers overall softened by 14c/kg. Weaner steers average 295c/kg with feeder steers averaging 270c/kg. Heavy feeder heifers sold well to stay firm on last week’s prices with a larger yarding seen in this weight range. Some very good quality cows this week saw the average price increase by 20-30c/kg for light to moderate-weight cows (330-500kg). Cows & calves sold well to average $1,251, seeing an increase of $60/unit on the previous week. Overall, a reasonable buyer panel was present this week and highly sought-after cattle saw strong competition.
